“Isabela (my sister) and I had an incredible three days at Avatar Lodge!
It was the beginning of our two week trip in Peru, and the Amazon was the perfect way to start that trip.
Cesar Hidalgo was our guide for all three days, and we were amazed and delighted with his knowledge and love for the area.
Some of our favorite parts:
Visiting the Amazon Rescue Center and holding an anaconda.
Day and night hikes from Avatar Lodge (these hikes were not difficult, but the day hike was a couple hours long in swampy water. This made walking more intense, but fun!).
Our favorite natural encounters were with the monkeys on our day hike and tarantulas on our night hike.
Ziplining - we felt very safe and secure, and we had a blast!

Dancing with a local tribe - Isabela and I bought souvenirs from the tribe, and we felt very confident in our purchases and where our money was going after spending some time with the local people

Avatar Amazon Lodge was clean, welcoming, and comfortable. It is a beautiful gem just a short hike from the Amazon River, and we felt truly immersed in the Rainforest during our stay.
I would highly recommend Avatar Amazon Lodge to anyone seeking an authentic glimpse into life in the Amazon while enjoying a wide variety of outdoor activities each day.
